Volkswagen door lights with projector
Cheap Chinese door lights for VW, with logo projectors, sold in kits with 2 or 4 pieces. From what I can find it should fit about a dozen car models, including Passat B6 - B9 2011-2023 and Golf 5, 6, 7 2010-2018.
It was disassembled because two out of four LEDs were not working at all.
Width = 82.8 mm.
Just some latches. Starting from completely transparent side seems like a way to open it.
Four low power LEDs + projection unit in the middle.
Rectifier bridge at the input makes power supply polarity not important.
PT4119 step-down converter with current sensing, dedicated LED driver.
Higher power LED under projector lens.
The issue (2 LEDs not working) looks like very unexpected manufacturing error (clean break in PCB trace), resulting in complete disconnection of (-) from the supply.
Fixed with a drop of solder after scrapping some solder mask.
