Vodafone Curve GPS tracker
Small, cylindrical, waterproof GPS/GSM tracker sold by Vodafone with subscription-based service.
I had to disasemble this one because magnetic connector was thorn out from charging cable in a way not allowing pin identification (identical length of the wires, no other hints). I believe that this device should be protected against reverse charging polarity (while magnets on the connector would repel in this case, touching contacts still is possible if someone would be unaware of this and connectors are visually symmetrical), I did not want to take the risk.
Screws hidden under plastic sticker on the back.
Foam seal.
LiIon 852025 cell, 3.8 V, 500 mAh.
Pogo pins connecting antennas.
VST001 W12 V0.2.
SMD buzzer (or mini speaker?) and what looks like a MEMS microphone footprint, perhaps used in other hardware version.
It looks like the real manufacturer of this device is Trackimo INC, model name VST001.
While I did not want to disassemble this tracker further, it looks like very similar (but not identical!) model is listed on FCC. I've included few photos from its documentation below.
While it looks very similar to mine, here is one of the differences: number of antenna pogo pins.
Mediatek MT2503AV: chip described as SiP/System-in-Package, with MT6216A (feature phone system-on-chip from 2014, used e.g. by Nokia 106, Nokia 130) die and MT3333 (GPS) die inside. For a program memory external 25LQ64 SPI Flash is used.
RDA6625: mobile radio front-end.
CC2541: Bluetooth SoC.
MT5931A: 802.11n MAC + PHY all-in-one with SDIO and SPI interfaces.
